Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other part of the globe, or someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk-based groups was Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver heard an early version he knew right away the song could be an instant hit. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver released the song a couple of days later.
